Expansion tank pipe - Position: Upper - Tank To Pipe.
This OE Match expansion tank pipe is a direct replacement for the original Porsche coolant hose fitted to Porsche 928 models from 1978 to 1995. Manufactured to OE specifications, it is engineered to provide reliable coolant transfer between the coolant expansion tank and engine cooling pipe assembly while maintaining factory-correct fitment and cooling system performance.

Fits:
Porsche 928 1978 - 1991
Porsche 928 1993 - 1995

Diagram ref no 33

Installed within the engine cooling system, this hose connects the upper expansion/header tank to the metal coolant pipe or engine “Y” pipe assembly. It plays an important role in circulating coolant and allowing coolant expansion and pressure equalisation within the cooling circuit. Proper coolant flow through this hose is essential for maintaining stable engine operating temperatures and preventing overheating.

The expansion tank pipe transfers coolant between the expansion tank and cooling system pipework, helping maintain correct coolant circulation, pressure regulation, and cooling system efficiency.

Function
•  Connects coolant expansion tank to engine cooling pipework
Supports coolant circulation and pressure equalisation
Helps maintain stable engine operating temperature
Reduces risk of coolant leaks and overheating
  Maintains efficient cooling system operation

Cooling hoses are constantly exposed to heat, coolant pressure, and engine vibration. Over time, the hose material can become brittle or porous, increasing the risk of coolant leaks and cooling system failure. Replacing worn coolant hoses helps maintain reliable engine cooling performance and reduces the risk of overheating damage.

When to replace
  Visible coolant leaks or staining
Cracked, hardened, or swollen hose material
  Cooling system pressure loss
  Overheating or fluctuating coolant temperatures
  During preventative cooling system maintenance
During radiator or engine cooling system repairs
