This calibration has been engineered exclusively for:

The standard calibration is optimised for 95 RON premium unleaded fuel.

For customers regularly using 98 RON premium fuel, an optional higher-octane calibration is available to safely maximise ignition advance and overall engine performance.

Developed from a Blank Slate

Rather than making minor alterations to the original Porsche software, this Performance Upgrade Chip has been completely re-engineered.

The revised calibration optimises:

Every aspect of the Motronic programme has been refined through extensive chassis dyno testing and real-world driving to extract previously untapped performance from the Carrera 3.2 engine.

  • 6-8% increase in horsepower and torque throughout the powerband.
  • Approximately 12-16 bhp increase on standard engines.
  • Around 20 lb-ft increase in torque across much of the rev range.
  • 10-20% improvement in part-throttle torque and engine efficiency.
  • Significant gains approaching the top of the rev range, with improvements of up to 25-35 bhp around 6,500rpm under certain operating conditions. Stronger pulling power from as little as 1,500rpm.
  • Elimination of the familiar flat spot below 4,000rpm.
  • Improved acceleration all the way to the rev limiter.

Vehicles fitted with polished intake runners, induction upgrades or sports exhaust systems may achieve even greater gains as the revised software fully supports the increased airflow available from these modifications.

1987 Model Owners – 24-Pin or 28-Pin?
1987 was a transitional production year, during which Porsche changed from a 24-pin EPROM to a 28-pin version.
If you own a 1987 model, the only reliable way to determine which chip your vehicle requires is to inspect the DME control unit.
The original EPROM is a black rectangular chip fitted with a factory foil label carrying a part number similar to: 1267355xxx

Simply count the number of legs (pins):
24 pins – Order the 24-pin version.
28 pins – This product is correct.
