The track rod end transfers steering movement from the steering rack to the front wheels while allowing suspension articulation. It helps maintain accurate steering response, stable handling, and correct front wheel alignment.

Installed between the steering track rod and the steering knuckle/swivel hub assembly, the track rod end transfers steering movement from the steering rack directly to the front wheels. Its ball joint design allows controlled articulation during steering and suspension movement while maintaining precise wheel alignment and steering response.

Function
Connects steering rack track rod to wheel hub assembly
•   Transfers steering input to the front wheels
•   Maintains accurate steering and wheel alignment
•   Allows controlled steering and suspension articulation
•   Supports stable handling and front axle control

Track rod ends are subjected to continuous steering movement, road impact, vibration, and suspension load. Over time, the internal ball joint can wear, creating excessive movement and reducing steering precision. A worn track rod end may lead to steering play, unstable handling, tyre wear, and MOT failure. Replacing worn joints restores safe steering operation and helps maintain proper suspension geometry.

When to replace
Steering play or vague steering feel
  Knocking noises from front suspension
Uneven front tyre wear Incorrect wheel alignment
MOT or inspection failure due to steering wear
During steering rack or suspension servicing
