991 Speedster 4.0L (510Bhp)

Porsche unveiled the 991.2 Speedster in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen on June 8, 2018, marking the 70th anniversary of Porsche sports car production.

Originally planned as the swan song for the 991-generation 911 in late 2018, production delays arose due to new vehicle testing regulations. Consequently, the 991 Speedster was initially revealed as a concept car in June 2018. However, when production of the 992 was delayed, Porsche announced on October 2, 2018, that the 991.2 Speedster would be produced in 2019, with 1,948 units slated for production.

The Speedster borrowed its chassis and manual 6-speed transmission from the 991.2 GT3 4.0, while its 383 kW engine came from the 991.2 GT3 RS. Notably, it featured 21" wheels in Fuchs design with center locks, and new 21" cross-spoke wheels were also available. Design elements included a shortened window frame and side windows, along with a lightweight tonneau cover in place of a convertible top, reminiscent of the historic original.

As the curtain fell on the 991.2 generation, the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster stands as its grand finale, commemorating a legacy of milestones and achievements.
